Good evening.

Now, at the end of the day, we would like to invite you to look back on your experiences and learning. What does it mean to be human within education? What are the possibilities, difficulties, challenges, opportunities of it? What emotions do you experience as you think about this idea? Later this week, we will be exploring Parker J Palmer's essay 'Divided No More', which will draw some of these questions together with ideas of how we can go forward in creating an education system, classrooms, and educators who are committed to creating hospitable places of learning and belonging.

For now, please read the poem below, aloud if you can/wish to. We invite you to sit with it and read it slowly, taking your time with it.

Taken from the poetry anthology Being Human, edited by Neil Astley and published by Bloodaxe Books/

We wish you a restful and restorative night's sleep tonight, an empowering idleness within which to recreate yourself, and time to be human. Tomorrow we will be thinking about assumptions and stories in education.

Goodnight,

Naomi and Elena
